Automated Poly Bagging and Sealing System

Custom Real-Time Graphics, Text and Barcodes

Multiple Bag Sizes and (Recycled) Materials

Traceability of Finished Goods

YOUR AUTOMATED PACKAGING SOLUTION

AM-Bagging closes the loop on your production line — automatically bagging, sealing, and labeling each part the moment it leaves AM-Sort, with no manual intervention between inspection and fulfillment.

Developed for the high-mix, order-specific packaging demands of additive manufacturing, where every bag may contain a different part destined for a different customer, AM-Bagging handles variable bag sizes, prints custom real-time graphics, text, and barcodes per part, and supports both standard and recycled poly materials. The same capability makes it a direct fit for injection molding, die casting, and CNC manufacturers looking to automate finished goods packaging and eliminate manual bagging from their fulfillment workflow — with full traceability from production through to the shipped bag.

ADVANTAGES

AUTOMATED BAGGING

AM-Bagging integrates directly with AM-Vision and AM-Sort — receiving each identified and sorted part automatically, filling the bag, heat sealing it, and applying the correct label without any manual steps between sorting and finished goods.

For additive manufacturing operations, this replaces the manual bagging step that typically follows sorting — the last remaining bottleneck before order dispatch.

CUSTOMIZED LABELING

AM-Bagging prints custom graphics, text, and barcodes or QR codes directly onto each bag in real time — pulling label content automatically from AM-Logic based on part identity and order data. No pre-printed label stock, no manual application, no mislabelling between SKUs.

For additive manufacturing service bureaus, this means each customer order is correctly identified and traceable from the moment it's bagged. For injection molding, die casting, and CNC manufacturers, it provides the automated label accuracy needed for mixed-SKU fulfilment, customer-specific packaging requirements, and barcode-based inventory or shipping workflows.

VARIABLE BAG LENGTH

AM-Bagging supports three bag widths — 150mm, 200mm, and 250mm — with material thicknesses of 50 or 100 μm, and able to adjust bag length to fit each part, eliminating wasted material on smaller components and ensuring a clean, professional package regardless of part size. Both standard and recycled poly materials are supported without changeover downtime.

For additive manufacturing operations with high geometry variation between parts, this means a single system handles the full range of output without operator adjustment. For injection molding, die casting, and CNC manufacturers running multiple product sizes through the same packaging line, it removes the need for separate bagging stations between jobs.

FAST THROUGHPUT

AM-Bagging operates at a throughput that matches the upstream AM-Flow line — ensuring the bagging step never becomes the constraint in an otherwise automated workflow. For additive manufacturing post-processing lines, this means parts move continuously from identification and sorting through to finished, labelled, traceable bags ready for dispatch. For injection molding, die casting, and CNC operations, it means high-volume mixed-SKU packaging runs without the accumulation and manual clearing that characterises conventional bagging stations.

  • “The bottlenecks in the industry right now are largely in the post processing side, so everything after the printer. While we continue to grow, we can not just add human labor to continue to simply sort parts. That’s something we have been aggressively trying to resolve and explains our interest in AM-Flow. We are very impressed by the AM-Flow technology.”

  • 'As other 3D printing service providers, Oceanz’ part of the post processing workflow is also manually. That is why, for our growth, we see the importance of applying and developing new technological principles, such as automatic identification, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning,”

  • “As companies scale their AM operations, they increasingly rely on automation. However, the potential to scale is limited by the post processing, which today is still mostly a manual process. Scaling this manual process by simple adding people increases costs, variability and doesn’t increase reliability. If you want to scale production, the only way forward is to automate post processing . . . but that easier said than done.”
Bart Van der Schueren | CTO Materialise, BE
  • “We want to strengthen our value for money proposition by lowering cost and optimizing lead time by business and manufacturing automation. We rather invest at an early stage; it is harder to change processes once we run 10 machines and increased the headcount. We aim to create a scalable infrastructure that enables fast but organized growth that does not compromise quality or customer experience”

  • “Integrating AM-Flow's identification and sorting capabilities has optimized our SLS and MJF processes, balancing density and geometry to reduce build costs. Streamlined administrative tasks and enhanced quality tracking have significantly cut non-value-added time and integrated critical quality data into our production system. Consequently, our production output increased by 70% in six months, and our non-conformance rate dropped from 1.6% to below 0.7%.”
