On the road to fully automated AM Production Lines:
3Faktur GmbH invests in AM-Flow’s AM-VISION AM-SORT and AM-BAGGING.
3Faktur, experienced and highly professional additive manufacturing supplier located in Germany, is one of the pioneers to automate their AM workflow. 3Faktur sees a strong shift towards serial production, with rising expectations from prototyping towards ‘real’ industrial manufacturing. To address this and to scale production further, automating production and business processes is the way to achieve reliable quality, shorter lead times at the lowest possible cost.
“We rather invest at an early stage; it is harder to change processes once we run 10 machines and increased the headcount. We would like to create, scalable infrastructure that enables fast but organized growth that does not compromise quality or customer experience” Markus May, co-founder 3Faktur
The AM-VISION provides fast automated identification of 3D printed parts, whilst the accompanying AM-SORT – developed to sort parts quickly and with care with the patented flippers especially developed for the high variety of 3D printed parts – ensures that identified parts are guided to the next process step according to their Bill of Materials. The AM-BAGGING unit provides the endpoint of production by bagging (individual) parts with automated labelling, adding customized text and images before shipping.
The AM-LOGIC software guarantees seamless integration of all AM-Flow’s modules into the factory’s existing IT architecture, enabling access to the entire digital backbone at all times through static or mobile operating consoles.

“From the initial contact, we experienced AM Flow as a very honest and trustworthy business partner, who’s staff from the early conversations all the way to implementation undertook great effort to understand our business and support it in the best possible way” according to Markus May
With these modules, 3Faktur is not only able to save on costs, time and workflow efficiency, it supports their aim to become one of the market leaders for additive manufacturing of plastic parts in Europe. To this end, 3Faktur continue to invest in manufacturing capabilities, with a strong focus in automation. 3Faktur aims for the highest level of automation in the industry in order to maximize repeatability and reliability, while achieving the industry-leading efficiency.
Carlos Zwikker, CCO AM-Flow: “We are happy to support 3Faktur in their next step to create a fully digital Additive Manufacturing workflow. Our end-to end AM workflow solution addresses their concern about availability of skilled labour, creating a scalable infrastructure without compromising quality and customer experience.”
